How to improve your WPM — fast
1️⃣
Use all 10 fingers
Place fingers on home row (ASDF JKL;). Each finger is responsible for specific keys. This alone can double your speed.
2️⃣
Never look at the keyboard
Glancing down breaks your rhythm. Use our Practice Mode — the hardest habit to break is the most important one to break.
3️⃣
Accuracy before speed
Aim for 98%+ accuracy before trying to go faster. Typing slowly and correctly builds better muscle memory than fast and sloppy.
4️⃣
Practise daily, not in marathon sessions
15–20 minutes every day beats a 2-hour session once a week. Consistency is how muscle memory forms.
